7. Deer Tick - Divine Providence
I had always looked at this band as more of a live act, then a studio band. This was due to the fact that I could never get into their studio output, as it never quite matched the energy, raw power, and overall good time that their live show brought to the table. That was until this record. Here they match their energy with an album that perfectly captures what so many people love about this band. These tunes are raw, fun, and road ready. In my eyes, these guys are the modern day Replacements. You never know what you’re going to see from Deer Tick. They could show up half in the bag or whatever, do Nirvana covers all night, let John McCauley III just do folk songs, or just smash their gear for the hell of it. This is a true rock band. Play this fucker loud.
Deer Tick - The Bump
This is from their album Divine Providence which comes out next week. This is some of the raw-est Deer Tick recordings I have ever heard. It sounds really similar to their live sound!
