6. JEFF The Brotherhood - We Are The Champions

These bogus bros do not stop. After a year and a half of constant touring under their excellent 2009 album “Heavy Days”, they finally settled down long enough to commit this great record to tape. Compared to its predecessor, it’s a bit slower in spots, but the songwriting is tighter! The opening cut “Hey Friend” starts off with a hip-hop siren, and the best (or worst?) opening line to an album ever, “I’ve been thinking about your mom”. The real JEFF shines on the road, and these tunes sound even better live. Soon, they will make their major label debut on Warner Brothers, let’s hope they aren’t forced to change on us.
